![]() ![]() The second option is to use sound masking and suppressed ammo to avoid being heard at all, but obviously that's more limited. How many shots that takes can vary quite a lot depending on your distance and line of sight to enemies. If you fire too many shots from the same position, you'll enter a full red alert mode where enemies will know exactly where you are and attempt to fire at you. You can even leave traps behind for them. The enemies will move in to investigate where the shots came from initially, by which time you'll be long gone. "Ghost" mode (displayed as a yellow alert), aka shoot-and-scoot, where you take a loud shot or two, or three, at enemies - which will alert them to your rough location but not enough to actually pinpoint you, and then you just move to another position and repeat. In terms of actually remaining undetected altogether though you've got two main options. Of course if you're doing that you need to watch out for any that try to close in on your position - set up various mines to cover your flank. Anything past 150m is a good enough distance to just hunker down and take potshots at enemies as they attempt to fire at you mostly in vain. Your rifle allows you to engage enemies at a distance where #1 they'll have a hard time locating you even without a suppressor or sound masking, and #2 even if they do pinpoint you they'll have a very hard time hitting you (excluding enemy snipers obviously). You don't necessarily need to be stealthy at all in this game in the traditional video game sense. ![]()
